If motherhood feels mainly like a weekly parade of shame, isolation, exhaustion, trauma, grief, and constant sacrifice—it's not you.Â
By that, I mean you're not alone and it's not your fault.Â
So, whose fault is it?
Let's start with the obvious:Â Â

I'm Natasha Coulis— a writer, strategy designer, graphic designer, community organizer, mother of four grown children, and founder of Undoing Motherhood.
I'm one of those overly earnest idealists who believe we can still fix the world. I believe moms will collectively save us because no one wants to fix the world more than mothers who didn't tear open favourite body parts just to have their kids spend their lives struggling to survive. Moms are the linchpin. But we need liberated moms who aren't too exhausted, traumatized, and distracted. Liberate moms and you'll find that moms are the do-iest do-ers around!
I combine my unique intersection of identities as a mother with my education in sociology, philosophy, psychology, social justice, and systems thinking to offer moms powerful ideas and tools for them to self-liberate from shame, isolation, exhaustion, trauma, grief and undue cost.Â

Sleep better at night.
After sending a voice memo to a friend experiencing mom grief, she replied:
"I don't know why you're not doing a podcast because your voice is so soothing. I just want you to tell me that it's going to be okay. Even if you just put that on a loop. 'It's okay. It will all come around. It's okay to go to sleep and let your brain rest.' I would just listen to it on a loop so I could sleep better at night."
